This is the first background of a small series for an intro animation to a game I'm working on with a buddy of mine... aside from the "Dungeon Drop" one... yup, 2 games... I'm working on 2 games... and I'm the only artist... D':
Oh well. Right, so, tips, critiques, and other helpful hints are more than welcome! so please, pile them on!
Lovely work. The clay pots on the right look a little iffy to me. I feel like the top cylinders should be closer to a straight like or viewable from the top. Moreso because everything else cylindrical is being looked down on so they stick out, especially with the dark contrast of the woven basket lid behind them. I say either add more cylinders that have tops being looks up at, or change the tops to something being looked down on and see how that looks.
Good eye! Yup, I made the decision to leave it as is to sort of go with a "wonky" type feel to it where perspective is there but not necessarily important. (yup, 'wonky' is an official term for animation, lol)
I suppose you can describe it like that lol. [link] <There's a little more detail there at our site but it's basically a "simon" type of game where symbols light up and you follow the steadily growing pattern as it begins to speed up in later levels. I hope that made sense, lol.
Ah, interesting. From the design I initially thought it looked like the background to a game that was in the vein of the Broken Sword: Shadow of the Templars series. Still, a "simon" type game is cool as well, and it's always nice to have artistic backgrounds that are more than just abstract. Thanks for the the info.
besides That's Gooooood... Drawing
Thanks, though.
